3 Day Show August 2009

You will be pleased to know that the staff were busy collecting rosettes and clear rounds in the last few days - and also lots of clear rounds were jumped with our young jump team at this their first big show.

Nicole and Shads jumped many clears over all days and just missed the placings on the final day in the 70cm section.

Alice and Biscuit also jumped hard earned clear rounds in the 70cm section every day and they did exceptionally well considering Biscuit has never been to such a big showground.

Daisy and Ella also jumped clear on the first day in the 80cm section and just a fence down on the 3rd day. Unfornately Ella and Daisy slipped in Castle arena on the second day however Daisy has a stunning picture of this!

Anna and Hobby jumped some lovely clear rounds, Hobby can have the odd fence down so he was allowed more chances to better the odds. He and Anna did two stunning rounds, his best being in the grass "Castle" arena and was unlucky not to get placed. Hobby clearly preferred the wet grass ( I think his eventing side kicked in!! ). He just stuck or suctioned himself to the ground!

Shelley concentrated on the young horses and Joss jumped a beautiful round in the 1.15cm with just one fence down and also a fast one in the 1.10cm on the first day, she was very excited and surprised everyone who haven't seen her so buzzy!

Spring was amazing and Shelley concentrated on introducing her to the showground as this was Spring's first ever show! She loved it and had just one spook and a fence down on the first and second day and a very bold round on the last with just one fence due to a green baby moment. We were delighted with her.

Kid had 4 faults in the 1.20 speed and 1.10cm heat then on the third day Shelley concentrated more on her as the second day was chaotic (16 classes to be jumped ), it was a major challenge to get to the rings especially as they were all drawn order! She jumped a superb accurate round and they came 5th in their heat.

Reg and Catherine jumped in the 1m speed ( Castle ) and did a lovely fluent clear round but we didn't push him as he wasn't studded and it had rained all night! They jumped the 90cm heats and completed two very fast bold rounds to come 3rd in heat 1 and 5th in heat 2. The places gain the riders points in their section and then they are totalled up and they got the most points so received the full works!...........Gold position and Catherine got to pose on the podium adorned in sash, big rosette, medal and fancy jacket!!

All these classes had over 100 entries so the show was fantastic for us, special thanks go to staff Shelley and Catherine as I could not have organised it all without their additional attention and guidance with the young team. We were very proud of them all.

Also thanks to Shelley for the driving each end and to Ashley who also trailed the horses and kept the farm going while we were absent!

Big thanks to Rachel for lending us her truck and also to Deb for allowing Biscuit to come along!! ( we appreciate her being so generous as Biscuit is her pride and joy )
